ABOUT

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Ashley Shukman started her dance training at 11 at Los Angeles Ballet Academy under the direction of Andrea Paris-Gutierrez. She performed ballets including the role of Swanhilda in their production of Coppélia and won several awards at competitions such as YAGP.  Upon graduation, she completed her Royal Academy of Dance examination with distinction and American Ballet Theater's Level 6 examination. In 2023, she graduated magna cum laude from Fordham/Ailey BFA Program, double majoring in Dance and New Media and Digital Design. During this time, she performed works by José Limón, Brice Mousset, Helen Simoneau, Ethan Colangelo, and Tina Bush. She enhanced her studies at LINES Ballet, Hubbard Street, Complexions Ballet, BODYTRAFFIC, L.A. Contemporary Dance, and Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary.

Ashley recently performed and worked as a choreographer’s assistant and performer for The Realm Company's Krampus. In addition, Ashley works as a marketing and production specialist at the Ballet Agency where she helps bridge the gap between dance and entertainment. With a fervent passion for both art and media, Ashley is dedicated to exploring innovative ways to merge creativity with business. She looks forward to performing in and creating inclusive dance experiences that invite everyone to engage with and enjoy the art form.
